14 Killed in Tragic Matatu Crash at Migaa Blackspot

Fourteen people lost their lives early this morning after a trailer rammed into a matatu at the notorious Migaa blackspot in Molo sub-county, Nakuru County.

According to a police report, 13 victims died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the hospital.

Molo sub-county Police Commander Timon Odingo confirmed the incident, stating that the accident occurred at around 2 a.m.

“We have launched investigations into the crash. Preliminary findings indicate that the tragic accident claimed the lives of 14 people—eight men, five women, and a minor. The 11-seater Kitale-Nairobi shuttle was hit from behind,” said Odingo.

The Migaa blackspot has been a death trap for motorists, with this latest tragedy coming just months after 13 people perished in a similar accident at the same location. Authorities are now calling for stricter safety measures to prevent further loss of lives.
