Police arrest notorious burglars in Machakos

MACHAKOS: Detectives have nabbed Uthex (Wycliffe Matheka Kithuku) – a notorious mastermind of thieving with Cynthia Mbithe Musyoka and Jackson Wambua Mutinda – who has been the brain behind a number of burglary break-ins.

These three people have been carrying out burglaries using hardware items and even during the day they invade the homes because of the terror they send Machakos and Joska residents.

While catching the trio, the officers seized a motorcycle (KMGP 114m) which was used as a means of escape, burglary instruments, which included a bolt cutter and a long iron rod are the tools that the offenders supposedly employed to threaten the watchmen during their cleaning jobs.

Police also managed to arrest Brian Wambua Manza in the town of Machakos, and he had no means to escape.

He was made to lead the officers to where the stolen goods were stashed, and after taking the pressure, the loot was recovered in the form of 200 kilograms of nails, 25 kilograms of hoop iron, and a laptop which were hidden in a scrap metal dealer’s house.

Further investigations showed Kithuku, Mutinda and Manza were all ex-convicts, recently released from the Machakos GK Prison.

However, their freedom was short-lived, as they are now back in police custody, undergoing processing ahead of their court appearance.

At the same time, the recovered pieces are being safely kept as exhibits for further investigation.
