Lawyer Willis Otieno hit at MP Alego Usonga online

Celebrated lawyer Willis Otieno has lashed at the Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi calling him an outright sycophant who worships proximity to power.

This comes after the lawmaker who was recently elected chair of the budget committee castigated Siaya Governor James Orengo for failing to support the broad based government.

“Atandi is the kind of MP who thinks loyalty means losing his spine in public and calling it patriotism. The man doesn’t serve his people—he serves proximity to power like it’s a buffet,” the lawyer wrote on his Facebook handle.

He continued, “When the community cries about hunger, he’s on TV defending fuel hikes with a straight face and a crooked soul. He’s mastered the art of quoting the president more than the Constitution, and thinks clapping the loudest at State House will develop Alego.”

He cited that the second time lawmaker had missed the basic reason he was elected to parliament and now engages on hero worshipping which translates to nothing tangible on ground.

Otieno accused Atandi of insulting dissenting people.

“You can’t build a nation by bootlicking your way through parliament, throwing insults at critical voices, and calling it “development politics.” Atandi isn’t representing the people—he’s babysitting power,” Otieno wrote further.

He however warned that when the regime changes he would face problems.

“When the regime shifts, he’ll be the first to start licking new boots, like a political weather vane spinning in shameful silence,” he concluded.
