Keroka Police Seize 260kg of Suspected Cannabis in Major Drug Bust

NYAMIRA: Police in Nyamira County have seized approximately 260 kilograms of a substance believed to be cannabis sativa during a targeted operation along the Kisii–Sotik highway.

The operation, led by Sub-County Police Commander (SCPC) Mr. Tobias Ombima, was carried out by officers from Keroka Police Station who intercepted a suspicious vehicle believed to be ferrying illegal substances.

Upon inspection, the officers discovered ten sacks concealed within the vehicle. It was also found that the car had been fitted with a fake number plate, likely in an attempt to avoid detection.

Two suspects who were in the vehicle at the time were arrested and are currently in police custody, pending arraignment. The vehicle has been impounded as investigations continue.
