Police Nab Two in Mombasa Cannabis Bust After Public Tip-Off

Mombasa Central Police have arrested two suspected drug traffickers and seized a parcel of cannabis sativa following a public tip-off.

According to police, the operation was triggered by information from concerned citizens about a suspicious parcel offloaded from a bus that had just arrived at Mwembe Tayari from Homa Bay. Officers moved swiftly to the booking office, where they lay in wait for the intended recipients.

The suspects — Pamela Akinyi Ochichi and Daniel Agolla Ogweno — were arrested on the spot after claiming the package. A subsequent inspection revealed multiple rolls of cannabis.

Police say the two are in custody pending processing and arraignment, while the recovered drugs have been secured as exhibits.
