Three Brutal Murders Under Investigation in Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, and Meru

CRIME: Detectives in Nairobi are probing the gruesome killing of a 37-year-old woman whose body was set ablaze in her apartment at Boma Yangu Estate, Pangani.

The victim, identified as Shelmic Wambui Muratha, was found on the floor of her eighth-floor unit along Kinshasa Road with multiple stab wounds, burn marks, and blood around her body.

Neighbours reported smoke coming from the house, prompting police and emergency responders to force entry.

Investigators say the apartment had been ransacked, and the assailant is believed to have started the fire as a cover-up.

Only a few clothes and a mosquito net were destroyed before the blaze was contained.

The suspect remains at large, and police say they are pursuing several leads.

Meanwhile, in Soy, Uasin Gishu County, police are investigating the murder of a man whose body was dumped by the roadside.

The victim had deep cuts on the head, hands, and left foot. The motive remains unknown.

In Maua, Meru County, 50-year-old David Kiluingu died after being slashed by an assailant at a local bodaboda stage on August 8.

He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The attacker fled and is still at large.

All three bodies have been moved to mortuaries for postmortem examinations as investigations continue.
