ISIOLO: Police in Isiolo County have recovered uncustomed goods in a patrol operation conducted along the LAPSSET corridor in the early hours of Saturday, August 16, 2025.

Officers from Garbatulla Police Station intercepted a motor vehicle along the Kinna–Garbatulla road after it attempted to evade a police stop and landed in a ditch.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 52 bags of sugar (25kg each) and nine cartons of spaghetti.

The vehicle was towed to the station, and one suspect was arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt.

The National Police Service (NPS) has reiterated its commitment to intensifying the fight against smuggling and other economic crimes that threaten national security and revenue collection.
