KIRINYAGA: Detectives in Kirinyaga East have arrested three men in connection with the brutal murder of Jackline Waruguru Kathuri, whose severely mutilated body was discovered on November 22, 2025, in Ninga-ini village, Kirinyaga East Sub-County.

Police at Kiamutugu Police Station responded to a distress call and found the victim’s body bearing signs of extreme violence, including: Severe burn wounds, missing right upper arm and breast, visible head injuries.

The body was moved to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital for preservation and autopsy.

A manhunt was launched, and forensic leads quickly led detectives to the main suspect, Collins Muchira Ngege.

During interrogation, Ngege provided information that led to the arrest of his two accomplices: John Brian Kimotho Kamau and Stephen Muchiri Karani.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased, who left home on November 16, 2025, and never returned, was gang-raped, brutally attacked, and subsequently dragged to a nearby thicket where she was left for dead.

The three suspects are currently in police custody undergoing processing and are awaiting arraignment in court.
