Likoni Police Arrest Suspect in Crackdown on Criminal Gangs

LIKONI: Police in Likoni Sub-County, Mombasa, have arrested a suspect in an intelligence-led operation targeting criminal gangs in the area.

During the Friday, August 16 operation, officers recovered a panga and three rolls of cannabis sativa from the suspect. He was later escorted to custody, where he is awaiting processing and arraignment.

The National Police Service (NPS) said the crackdown was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle gangs and rid Mombasa of rising insecurity.

“We reiterate our commitment to flushing out criminals and ensuring the safety and security of all Kenyans, residents, and visitors,” NPS said in a statement.
