Intelligence unit nab three notorious thugs in Kisii

KISII: The hunt for a notorious gang that had been terrorizing Nyamira and Kisii has come to a end.

After a series of violent robberies, rapes, and defilement that had gripped the community in fear, detectives have finally closed in.

The breakthrough came after a investigation by the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), which linked the three criminals to at least three major heists.

One story, in particular, captured the cold-blooded nature of their crimes: a home invasion targeting a 96-year-old grandmother.

In the dead of night, the gang stormed her house. As the devout Catholic grandmother prayed for their souls, the men audaciously bowed their heads in a false show of respect.

Yet their true nature quickly emerged. They proceeded to guzzle the milk she had set aside for her medication, devoured all her food, and then fled with every piece of electronics she owned.

That was their last free night. Acting on a crucial lead, CRIB detectives partnered with officers from Kenyanya and Nyamira to launch an immediate operation.

The trio—William Obiero Gekonge, James Mogaka Otego, and Justus Ondieki Nyabuto—were smoked out of their hideouts in Kisii.

The swoop was a success. Detectives recovered a stash of stolen electronics along with the motorcycle the gang had used in their criminal escapades. With the suspects now in custody, a terrifying chapter for the residents of Nyamira and Kisii has finally closed.
