Pain as a Migori Man kills son after confrontation over food

AWENDO: A dispute over food has turned deadly in Migori County, where a 28-year-old man was killed after a violent confrontation with his own father.

The tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday, August 26, in Waudha village. According to police reports, Geoffrey Ouma had gone to his father’s home to ask for food, but when his request was denied, a heated argument escalated into a physical fight.

Police believe the father used a wooden jembe handle to strike Ouma in the head, inflicting fatal injuries.

The father then fled the scene, leaving his son to collapse and die from his wounds.

Responding officers recovered the murder weapon from the scene and transported Ouma’s body to the mortuary.

A manhunt for the suspect is currently underway.

Authorities stated that this case is part of a worrying trend, as it was one of eight murder incidents reported in the county on Tuesday alone.
