Police Seize Narcotics, Arrest Suspect in Awendo

AWENDO: Police officers from Awendo Police Station successfully seized approximately four kilograms of cannabis sativa yesterday following a tip-off on the Migori-Kisii road.

During the operation, officers spotted two individuals on a motorcycle.

When flagged down, the pillion passenger jumped off and fled into a nearby sugarcane plantation, leaving behind the rider and a suspicious package.

Upon inspection, the officers discovered several brooms of cannabis sativa inside the package.

The motorcycle rider was immediately arrested and escorted to the station.

The suspect has been placed in custody and is awaiting arraignment in court, while the seized narcotics have been secured as evidence.
