Police seize illegal goods in a high speed chase

NDURIO: A high-speed chase ended with police seizing a significant haul of illegal goods, including three sets of number plates, over 1,300 liters of suspected ethanol, and narcotics.

The incident unfolded after officers, acting on a tip, attempted to stop a vehicle at a roadblock.

The pursuit began when officers from the Ndurio Police Post flagged down a white Toyota Harrier, registration number KCG 426D, at the Ndurio Trading Centre.

Upon seeing the roadblock, the driver immediately made an abrupt U-turn and sped off, leading officers on a chase.

The driver eventually abandoned the car and fled on foot, disappearing into the area.

Police took the vehicle to the Kobujoi Police Station, where a thorough search was conducted. Inside, they discovered a cache of illegal items: three sets of number plates (KCM 924K, KBK 469Y, and KBU 152S), Forty-five 30-liter jerricans of a liquid believed to be ethanol, two rolls of cannabis sativa, One mobile phone and a laminated smart driving license.

The vehicle and all recovered items have been secured as evidence at the station. Police are actively searching for the suspect and have vowed to bring him to justice.
