KAlonzo dressed in a buibui to meet President Ruto at Weston Hotel, Senator Cheruiyot

Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot has launched a stinging attack on Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of deceit following Musyoka’s public declaration that he would never meet President William Ruto.

Speaking during a public engagement in Bomet County, the Kericho Senator dismissed the former Vice President’s stance as insincere, alleging that Kalonzo had previously gone to extreme lengths to hold private talks with the Head of State.

Cheruiyot claimed that Kalonzo had secretly met President Ruto at Nairobi’s Weston Hotel following the 2022 General Election while attempting to secure government backing for a parliamentary seat.

“I am surprised that Mr. Musyoka is claiming that he can never meet President Ruto. That is a total lie and there is no truth in it. When he, Mr. Musyoka, dressed in a buibui to meet the President at Weston, was Ruto not the President?” posed Cheruiyot.

National Assembly speakership

The Majority Leader went further to claim that the secret meeting was centered on political deal-making, alleging that the Wiper leader sought President Ruto’s support to secure the Speaker of the National Assembly seat.

“There are so many things that we know and we have just kept quiet because we are decent people,” Cheruiyot added. “He wanted to convince President Ruto to help him become the Speaker of the National Assembly.
