Family Appeals for Firearm License Revocation After Domestic Shooting Attempt

TESO NORTH: A family in Kokare Village, Teso North Sub-County, Busia County, is living in fear after a relative allegedly attempted to shoot a family member during a domestic dispute.

Relatives, led by Patrick Osala, reported that the suspect, a retired officer from the National Intelligence Service (NIS), reportedly drew his pistol and attempted to shoot his brother.

The attempt was thwarted when another sibling intervened and managed to disarm him.

The family has since appealed to security agencies to revoke the suspect’s firearm license, citing serious concerns for their safety and well-being.

Confirming the incident, Teso North Sub-County Police Commander Jackline Wangila said investigations have been launched.

She added that the suspect is currently being held at Malaba Police Station as police continue their probe.
