Social media has been flooded with messages of support for boxer Gachau Njoroge after a terrifying medical emergency cut short his headline bout against Fid Phil at VURUGU 2.

Gachau was evacuated from the ring on a stretcher and hospitalized following a sixth-round TKO loss, an intense battle that saw the fighter collapse after battling severe exhaustion and breathing difficulties.

Fidphil was declared the winner of Vurugu2 alongside other curtain raiser boxers.

The face off between the two celebrated Kenyan body builders; Antony Gachau based in Kenya while his opponent FidPhil is based in the USA.

The duo met years earlier while beginning their body building journey.

Cabbage man

Ahead of the fight, the duo treated Kenyans to drama with each calling the opponent names, Gachau for instance called his opponent cabbage man tagging the work he does in the US of driving tack where he mostly transport cabbage.

Fidphil on the other hand called his opponent ‘ndama’ meaning calf; this is from his Gachau name.

The pre-fight hype was characterized by intense trash talk and dramatic face-offs. During the face off, Fidphil brought a huge cabbage and tried feeding Gachau.
