Police investigating deaths of a Murang’a man and a three-year-old in Gem Wagai

Police in Murang’a East Sub-County are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was discovered inside a residential compound after an apparent accidental fall from a razor-wire perimeter wall.

The deceased, identified as Bidan Gitumbu Mwangi, was found face down on Monday morning in Kiawamburi Village.

According to police officers who processed the scene, Mwangi sustained visible injuries to his face, mouth, right hand, and back. Investigators believe he attempted to scale the perimeter wall during the night, came into contact with the razor wire, and fell to his death.

Elsewhere in Siaya, a homicide investigation has been launched in Gem Wagai Sub-County after a three-year-old boy was found strangled to death on his way to school on Monday morning.

The child, a pupil at Uriri Primary School’s daycare section, had just left his home in Upper Central Village around 7:00 a.m. when he was reportedly ambushed by unknown attackers.

His lifeless body was discovered hidden in a bush, approximately five meters from the main road and roughly 300 meters from his family home.
