Prophet Victor Kanyari of the Salvation Healing Ministry has revisited a past conversation he had with his late ex-wife, gospel singer Betty Bayo, regarding her subsequent relationship.

Speaking during a televised sermon to his congregation, the controversial televangelist stated that he had cautioned his late ex-wife that her new marriage would fail, but she ignored his warning.

“Niliambia Betty kuwa hiyo ndoa yake haikuwa inaenda mahali, hakunisikia, (I told her that the new marriage would not work but she didn’t listen to me)’’ said Kanyari.

He added, “Kwanza aliniambia ni mimi nitakufa, saa hii nani amekufa? (Who is dead now)”

During the sermon, Kanyari urged his congregants to pay attention to divine warnings before making life choices.

“Kabla mambo yawe magumu, Mungu huwa anazungumza na wewe. Huyo mwanaume unang’ang’ania na hunaambiwa hakupendi ila unazidi kung’ang’ana. Mungu atakuambia hata kabla hajatuma nabii (Before things get out of hand, God often speak to people. For instance the man you are insisting on staying with, God would speak and tell you he is not the right person before sending a prophet)” he said.

He further cautioned: “Wakati mwingine hata Mungu anakuonyesha signs that huyo mwanaume atakuja kukuua (Sometimes God will send you signs that the man you stay with will one day kill you, because you ignore, you will eventually die)”.

In the same sermon, the televangelist also reflected on his political ambitions for the Starehe parliamentary seat in the upcoming general election.

“Hata kiti cha Starehe ambacho nataka, Mungu ataniambia hata kabla ya uchaguzi (Even the Starehe seat, God will tell me whether I will win or not before elections are done next year)”.
