Mo Salah and Benzema likely to meet at Trabzonspor, talks underway

By AGENCY: Trabzonspor have reportedly contacted Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal regarding a potential blockbuster deal for former Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.

According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Trabzonspor have submitted a formal inquiry to explore the conditions necessary to bring the French striker to the Süper Lig.

The ambitious inquiry comes as the Black Sea Storm reportedly explore a mind-boggling setup that could see Benzema partner Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah in a dream Trabzonspor attack, though no agreement for either megastar has been finalized yet.

Benzema’s position at Al-Hilal has grown increasingly precarious in recent weeks.

The veteran forward joined the Riyadh-based side in January after severing ties with rivals Al-Ittihad.

However, after failing to deliver the Saudi Pro League title last season, his long-term future under head coach Simone Inzaghi appears bleak.

Inzaghi has explicitly requested a new centerpiece striker, prompting Al-Hilal to aggressively evaluate elite alternatives.

Names like Harry Kane, Ollie Watkins, and Victor Osimhen have all been placed on the club’s shortlist, signaling that the Saudi giants are actively preparing for life after Benzema.

Trabzonspor initially directed their transfer efforts toward Al-Hilal’s Darwin Núñez, however, with talks for the Uruguayan hitting a stalemate, the Turkish side swiftly pivoted when Benzema was pitched as a viable alternative.

Negotiations between the two clubs remain open, though complex financial hurdles lie ahead before any concrete agreement can be reached.

While the prospect of Salah and Benzema lining up together in Turkey remains speculative, the mere possibility has sent shockwaves through the footballing world.

For Trabzonspor, landing a marquee signature would instantly elevate their stature on the European stage.

For Al-Hilal, on the other hand, offloading Benzema clears critical wage space to pursue Inzaghi’s preferred frontline targets.

With the deadline looming, Trabzonspor’s bold gambit proves they are determined to make a massive splash this summer.

Whether they pull off an improbable double coup or pivot back to secondary targets, all eyes remain firmly fixed on Trabzon, Riyadh, and the unfolding domino effect in the transfer market.
