Embakasi East MP and Mwananchi Party leader Babu Owino has hit back at his critics, declaring that he will one day occupy State House.
Speaking on the Ramogi Baraza morning show on vernacular station Ramogi FM, the lawmaker became emotional as he recounted what he said he endured at the hands of ODM party officials following the death and burial of Raila Amolo Odinga.
He told host Victor Juma that he is working towards occupying “the house on the hill” one day.
“I have registered this party, and I want to tell you that after I serve my term as the Nairobi City governor, I will be the president of Kenya,” Owino said.
Addressing leaders who have castigated him over questions about his paternity, Owino said he had endured insults and abuse that he described as unprintable.
“All those insults targeted me and my mother. I want to tell the leaders who have dragged my beloved mother into political matters that they will be surprised when the same woman opens State House doors for them when they visit me,” he said.
Owino said his family, including his siblings, has borne a heavy burden because of politicians who have declared war on him.
The lawyer, who has served two terms as Embakasi East MP, is expected to face Johnson Sakaja in the 2027 contest for the Nairobi governorship.
