Gor Mahia FC to host Yanga FC in a friendly match in Siaya next month

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia and their Tanzanian counterparts Young Africans SC, fondly known as Yanga, are set to clash in an inaugural friendly match at the state-of-the-art Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium in Siaya next month.

The eagerly anticipated match aims to showcase the stadium’s modern facilities upon its nearing completion, aiming to set a high standard for future events.

Siaya Governor James Orengo recently visited the clubs to discuss and finalize arrangements for Yanga’s visit to Siaya for this historic friendly game.

He took to his Facebook page to share a photo of himself with the President of Yanga and Gor Mahia’s Secretary, Ambrose Rachier.

The event promises to be a significant sporting spectacle, bringing together fans from both sides of the border in celebration of football and the new stadium’s grand opening.

Yanga is the current Champions of the Taifa league and their clash with Kenyan champions will be a thrilling event.

“Met the President of Young African Sports Club (YANGA) & Chairman of African Club Association (ACA) Eng, Hersi Ally Said accompanied by the Chairman of Gor Mahia Ambrose Rachier. The teams have agreed to play an inaugural match during the official opening of Siaya Stadium. A collaboration agreement will be prepared for review and consideration,” posted the governor on his Facebook page.
