I don’t pray facing Mount Kenya because am an Anglican, says CS nominee JB Muturi

A light-hearted moment occurred during the vetting of former Attorney General JB Muturi when he was humorously asked if he prays facing Mount Kenya.

Mr. Muturi, who has enjoyed a steadily rising career since his first employment in the 1980s, clarified that he is an Anglican who prays to one known God.

The practice of praying facing Mount Kenya is notably associated with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“The Speaker Emeritus is a known Anglican and he does not pray facing Mount Kenya like some people,” quipped National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa, adding a touch of levity to the proceedings.

The exchange brought a moment of humor to the otherwise formal vetting session, highlighting the diverse cultural and religious practices within the country.

Mr Muturi, like other nominees, also disclosed that his net worth stood at Sh801 million.
