Five Police officers arraigned in court for aiding escape from Gigiri Police station

Five police officers from Gigiri Police Station—Gerald Mutuku, Zachary Nyabuto, Mollent Achieng, Evans Kipkirui, and Ronald Babo—today appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Nanzushi at the Milimani Law Courts.

They face charges of aiding the escape of 13 suspects, including Collins Jumaisi, a suspect in the Kware murder case.

The officers have been remanded until Thursday, the 21st, when a decision will be made on whether they will be detained for 14 more days.

Yesterday, the country was shocked by the news of the 13 rumandees escaping from a police cell that was heavily guarded by the police.

12 suspects Eritrean nationals arrested for being in the country illegally.
