Former NTV news anchor, Salim Swaleh breaks down in a viral video

The seasoned journalist, who previously worked with Royal Media Services before moving to NTV and later to the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary as the Director of Press, has been unemployed for nearly three months.

Mr. Swaleh, who was suspended over allegations of aiding fraudsters into the office of Musalia Mudavadi, addressed his former boss in an emotional video, pleading for an audience.

He claimed that life has been unbearable since his salary and benefits were abruptly stopped following his implication in the scandal alongside other employees.

“Life has not been easy. My salary was stopped, and the case has stalled in court,” said the former Swahili news anchor.

He also expressed frustration over the financial burden of legal proceedings, stating that both the police and lawyers have exploited the situation.

“Every time we appear in court, I have to pay the lawyers and the police. This has drained me and driven me into depression,” he lamented.

Mr. Swaleh further disclosed that the scandal has severely damaged his reputation, making it impossible for him to find new employment.

“Your Excellency, the case has stalled in court. My name has been so tarnished that no one is willing to offer me a job,” he added.

Kondele News has confirmed that his position at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary has since been filled by another journalist.
