GIGIRI: Police in Gigiri are investigating a shocking case of murder and suicide after a woman allegedly killed her three children before taking her own life at Githogoro area near Runda on Tuesday morning.

The woman, identified as Monica, is suspected of strangling her children using bedsheets before hanging herself inside their house.

The horrifying incident came to light when the late Monica’s husband returned home from his night shift duty and found a lifeless bodies of wife and children.

In shock, he alerted the neighbors who in turn called the police.

Confirming the incident, Gigiri Deputy Police Commander Fredrick Alata stated that investigators recovered a suicide note at the scene. Authorities are now examining the note to determine its author and establish the motive behind the crime.

The four bodies have been moved to the Kenyatta Teaching and Referral Hospital (KUTRH) morgue, where postmortem examinations will be conducted as investigations continue.
