NGARA: Police officers from the Central Police Station have dismantled a suspected counterfeit currency operation in Ngara, Nairobi, arresting seven people in a targeted intelligence-led raid.

The suspects include Tanzanian national Manyara Aroon Nicas, Congolese national Abbott Antony, and four Kenyans — Mongele Wambura, James Ngugi, Justus Alubokho Opulu, and Mary Mumbi.

They were apprehended during a raid at Travellers House, following a coordinated operation.

Police recovered 36 bundles of counterfeit US currency, two plastic replicas resembling dollar notes, black paper cut to currency size, and other materials believed to be used in the illicit trade.

The suspects are being held in custody as investigations continue and will be arraigned in court upon completion of processing.
