Sh10k three months rent for all the households affected by floods in Nairobi.

President William Ruto has pledged three months’ rent to all 40,000 households displaced by floods in Nairobi. Each affected household will receive 10,000 Kenyan shillings to assist them during this challenging time.

Assuring the public, the president emphasized that the funds allocated for the displaced individuals would be handled with integrity. “Nobody will misappropriate that money, listen to me. That money will be given to you, and I have said as the Commander in Chief we must do it the right way,” he affirmed.

During his visit to Mathare, Kiamaiko, and Mukuru kwa Njenga, areas heavily impacted by the floods, the Head of State reiterated his commitment to providing support to those in need. He announced plans for affordable housing in riparian reserve areas vacated by affected residents, stating, “We shall have a housing plan, affordable housing for all of them. This week we shall begin building 20,000 units for all the citizens. We must provide decent housing for them.”

Additionally, the president assured that basic necessities such as food, mattresses, and blankets would be provided to all affected individuals. He emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that families displaced by the floods receive adequate support and assistance.
