Heroin and human trafficking: the Maweni Estate raid

A targeted raid by the DCI Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in Mombasa has pulled the curtain back on a disturbing criminal nexus.

Acting on high-level intelligence, undercover teams descended on a residence in Nyali’s Maweni Estate, leading to the arrest of two key suspects: Amir Latf and Ruhman Abubakar.

While the search yielded 250 grams of heroin, the implications of the arrest go far deeper than narcotics.

Detectives revealed that the duo is allegedly central to a sophisticated child trafficking network operating across the Mombasa-Malindi-Nairobi corridor.

The suspects remain in custody as investigators work to untangle the full extent of their operations.
