Woman arrested while attempting to break into a shop in Kisumu

BY MOURINE SCOVIAN: A middle-aged woman is cooling her heels at a Kisumu Police station after she was allegedly caught cutting iron sheets on the roof of a shop in Holo village, Kisumu County.

It is claimed that she attempted to break in and steal.

According to reports, the woman was first spotted by security officers while cutting through the iron roof of the business premises.

The security officers immediately alerted a nearby police officer, who responded swiftly to the scene.

Upon arrival, the officer reportedly found the suspect in the act, using a sharp object to cut through the roof in an attempt to gain access to the shop.

Residents who responded to the commotion gathered at the scene as the suspect was apprehended before any theft could take place.

The woman was later taken to a nearby police station for questioning as investigations continue. Police are also probing whether she was acting alone or was part of a criminal gang targeting businesses in the area.
