National Infrastructure Fund (NIF) aims to guarantee youth employment, DP Kithure Kindiki

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenyan youth to take advantage of the newly established National Infrastructure Fund, stating that it will unlock numerous economic opportunities across the country.

Speaking during an impromptu inspection of the Rironi–Mau Summit Highway construction project, Prof. Kindiki expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that construction is moving at an impressive pace.

“The National Infrastructure Fund is consolidating both national government resources and investor capital into a single pool to ensure that infrastructure projects are continuously funded and developed,” Prof Kindiki said.

He added: “Even when this project is concluded, more will follow. You, the youth, who are skilled and eager to work, will have continuous employment opportunities to improve your livelihoods.”

The Deputy President, who later addressed crowds at Manguo, Kirenga, Kijabe, Kinungi, Naivasha, and Gilgil, praised the local youth for actively seizing available roles on the project.

“When this project is complete, your names will be engraved with an indelible mark for having taken part in building your country. I am proud of you,” he told the workers.

Prof Kindiki also cautioned the youth against being manipulated by politicians to cause chaos, urging them to prioritize constructive economic engagement.

“When we have opportunities like this to work, you will not be available to be persuaded into unlawful acts by politicians because you will be busy building your future,” he noted.
