Social Media suspect detained in Mombasa after a successful operation by Police

Detectives have arrested a suspect in Mombasa County in connection with the alleged improper use of social media, following an intelligence-led operation conducted in the Kadzandani area.

The suspect, Halima Ngache, known online as “Princess Halima”, was apprehended after investigations linked her to an X (formerly Twitter) account allegedly used to publish sensitive information regarding the movements of protected persons. Police are currently investigating the leaks as a potential threat to national security.

Ngache remains in police custody undergoing processing ahead of her arraignment in court.

In a separate operation, detectives based at the Malindi Police Station have apprehended a suspect linked to a string of robbery with violence incidents spanning both Malindi and Mombasa.

The suspect, Jesmshid Kadirbakshi, had been under intense police surveillance for his alleged role in a violent robbery that occurred on June 11, 2026, in Mombasa.

According to investigators, Kadirbakshi hired a Toyota Fielder (Registration No. KDQ 085R) in Malindi and allegedly converted it into a getaway vehicle for his criminal operations.

The vehicle was later recovered following a robbery incident in Mombasa.

In an attempt to evade law enforcement tracking, the suspect had altered the vehicle’s registration number plates to read KDS 223G.

Following a relentless surveillance operation, detectives tracked Kadirbakshi to his hideout in the Kwachocha area of Malindi, where he was placed under arrest.

Upon a search of the premises, officers recovered a knife and a black handbag containing cannabis sativa (marijuana).

The suspect is currently in custody being processed pending his arraignment.
