Harambee Stars forward Micah Obiero delivered a masterclass on Saturday, netting a brilliant double to lead Wealdstone to a convincing 2-0 victory over Sutton United at Gander Green Lane.

The clinical performance shattered Sutton’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

Obiero set the tone early, needing just 12 minutes to break the deadlock.

Reading a sharp cross from Kyle Smith perfectly, the Kenyan striker slotted home with calm precision to silence the home crowd.

Sutton mounted a spirited response in search of an equalizer.

David Ogbonna came inches close with a powerful effort that whistled just over the crossbar, while Wealdstone shot-stopper Spike Brits was forced into a top-drawer save to deny Jack Wells-Morrison.

Obiero threatened to extend the lead right before the break, though his effort fell just short.

However, the Harambee Stars attacker would not be denied his brace.

In the 67th minute, Wealdstone earned a spot-kick after Jermaine Francis handled the ball inside the box.
