By DAMARIS AWUOR: A 48-year-old man has died after allegedly being attacked by his neighbour in Uriri Sub-County, Migori County, in an incident that has left police investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal confrontation.

The deceased, Patrick Mwiremi, was reportedly attacked by his neighbour at around 9am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, according to police.

Mwiremi sustained serious injuries during the alleged attack and was rushed to St Joseph Mission Hospital Ombo for emergency treatment. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers from Uriri Police Station visited both the primary and secondary scenes as investigations into the incident began.

Detectives are working to establish what triggered the confrontation and the events that led to Mwiremi’s death.

The motive behind the alleged attack remains unclear, with investigators expected to question witnesses and examine evidence from the scenes as they seek to establish what happened.

Following his death, Mwiremi’s body was moved to the hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
