By OCHIENG CLINTON: Three children died after a fire broke out and completely destroyed their family home in Siriwo Sub-Location, Central Gem, Yala, Siaya County, early Tuesday morning.

The incident was confirmed by Siriwo Sub-Location Assistant Chief Dennis Ogol, who said members of the public attempted to rescue the children after the fire broke out but were unable to reach them in time.

The house was completely engulfed by the flames, leaving the family devastated and the community in shock.

Residents have expressed grief following the tragic incident, as the family and neighbours mourn the loss of the three children.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a grade seven pupil was preparing a meal for the three when the gas cylinder exploded, subsequently engulfing the entire house.
