Raid on illegal alcohol and substance continue in Siaya County

Days after a mob attacked and killed a Police inspector while conducting raid on illegal alcohol in Rarieda sub-county, the purge is on with several suspect arrested in different parts of the county.
The officers, acting on a tip off from a member of public, raided the homestead of one Jackline Akoth Ngesa at Kisumu A village in Ugenya sub-county.

The suspect Ms Akoth was arrested and booked at Kanyumba Police Patrol Base.
She was found in possession of 15 brooms of dry leafy substance suspected to be cannabis sativa valued at Ksh750.00; she will be arraigned in court and face charges of being in possession of illegal substance.
Last week, a senior police officer who raided a chang’aa den in Rarieda was killed by a mob who suspected that he was a bandit; they went away with his ceska pistol which was later recovered according to Siaya County Police Commander Kleti Kimaiyo.
One officer also sustained serious injuries from the attack.
