MOSOP: Lt Col David Kipcirchir Sawe, who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash alongside Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Francis Ogolla and other Kenya Defence Forces officers, was laid to rest today in Mosp sub-county.
The burial ceremony took place at his residence in Kapkorio village, Sarora Location of Mosop Sub-County in Nandi County, and was attended by a large gathering of mourners.
Former Lt. Col. Sawe was remembered as a soft hearted individual who made significant contributions to the welfare of his community.
Two weeks agot, while on a mission to the North Rift, an area plagued by banditry attacks and insecurity, a military chopper carrying Gen. Ogolla and nine other officers crashed, resulting in their untimely deaths.
President William Ruto solemnly announced the tragic incident to the nation, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of General Francis Omondi Ogolla, the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces and the other fallen officers.
Among those who perished alongside the CDF Gen Ogola and Lt Col Sawe were Maj. George Benson Magondu, Capt. Hillary Litali, Brig. Swaleh Saidi, Col. Duncan Keitanny, Capt. Sora Mohamed, Snr Sgt. John Kinyua Mureithi, and Sgt. Rose Nyawira
