Pain as a teenage girl commits suicide in Siaya.

Tragedy has struck a family in Papa Oriang, Alego Usonga Sub-County, as they grapple with the loss of their teenage daughter, who tragically took her own life using a manila rope.

The deceased, identified as Sara Akinyi Otieno, aged 17 and a student at Randago Polytechnic, was discovered hanging in her father’s bedroom.

According to a police incident report obtained by Kondele News, “The National Police Service officers found that one Sara Akinyi Otieno, aged 17 years old, a student at Randago Polytechnic, had hanged herself using a manila rope in one of the rafters in her father’s bedroom.”

The report further stated, “The father, namely Michael Otieno, was away attending a family meeting, accompanied by his wife, not far from the house. The motive of the deceased remains unknown as no suicide note was recovered at the scene. The scene was processed and documented, and the body has been moved to Siaya County Referral Morgue awaiting autopsy.”
