SUBA SOUTH: In an unfortunate turn of events, a father of three, reportedly laid his 5-month-old baby to rest in a grave without a coffin.
The baby’s alleged death due to illness occurred on the night of Thursday, May 16.
Witnesses among the neighbors were deeply disturbed by the sight and promptly alerted the local authorities.
Assistant chief Winnie Boit, accompanied by officers from Magunga police station, verified the incident during their visit to the man’s residence.
They disclosed that the man, who was living alone after his wife had returned to her parents’ home for epilepsy treatment, admitted to the act.
The man is currently in custody at Magunga Police Station as investigations continue into the matter.
Meanwhile, a court order mandates the exhumation of the baby’s body on Monday, May 27, for a thorough postmortem examination.
