Four notorious carjackers nabbed in Kisumu after they were trailed.

KISUMU: Four notorious carjackers operating in Kisumu were apprehended by detectives who trailed them to the Kibos area. The suspects, identified as Elijah Ochieng, 26, Benard Omondi, 24, Byron Ouma, 31, and Allan Odhiambo, 31, had been causing chaos in the lakeside city.

The alert came from a business manager at Sojpar Limited in Nyamasaria, who reported a lorry loaded with goods had been hijacked by the infamous gang. The vehicle, with registration number KCG 872z, was en route to deliver goods to the Buoye area.

According to a police incident report obtained by Kondele News, “Police officers from Nyamasaria swiftly responded to the report, tracking the vehicle signal to the Kibos area. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle being offloaded behind Abby’s company in Kibos.”

Upon noticing the police presence, the suspects attempted to flee in different directions. In response, the police fired warning shots into the air to deter them. All four suspects were apprehended without sustaining any injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will face charges before a Kisumu Magistrate Court.
