Brother attack each other with pangas fighting over land.

UGENYA: Police in Ukwala are currently detaining two individuals suspected of perpetrating a violent attack following a dispute over land.

The victim, identified as Benard Ochieng, suffered severe lacerations to his forehead as a result of the altercation.

The two assailants, identified as brothers Collins Otieno and Michael Omondi, are slated to appear before the Ukwala Magistrates Court to face assault charges.

According to authorities, the confrontation erupted over a land dispute involving the family of Andrea Abungu, who had gone missing four years ago, leaving behind three wives.

The local assistant chief had intervened in an attempt to reconcile the parties and had scheduled a resolution for the following day.

A police incident report obtained by Kondele News revealed that tensions escalated around 4:00 PM when the children of the first and second wives engaged in a physical altercation. During the clash, Benard Ochieng, a member of the first wife’s family, sustained serious injuries, including a laceration to his forehead and head trauma from a blunt object. He is currently receiving treatment at Sega Mission Hospital in critical condition.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, and further developments are underway.
