Pain as a fisherman drowns in Ndeda Island, Bondo sub-county.

Bondo: Authorities in Bondo sub-county are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic drowning incident that took place at Ndeda Island in Uyawi Sub-Location.

According to the local assistant Chief, the victim, identified as Obedi Oruta Yeye, a 26-year-old fisherman, lost his footing while attempting to cast his net and subsequently plunged into the deep waters of Lake Victoria.

“Upon visiting the scene, police officers determined that Obedi Oruta Yeye, a 26-year-old male adult, had accidentally slipped into the Kenyan waters of Lake Victoria while engaged in fishing activities,” stated the administrator.

Despite the efforts of his fellow fishermen to rescue him, their attempts were unsuccessful. Tragically, Obedi’s lifeless body was retrieved from the water and transported to the Bondo sub-county mortuary, where it awaits further examination through a post-mortem procedure.
