Jilted woman sets house on fire with husband and co-wife inside

BONDO: Police in Bondo have detained a woman who allegedly set fire to a house where her husband and co-wife were sleeping on Friday, June 14.

The suspect reportedly sprinkled fuel and ignited the fire. Fortunately, the occupants managed to wake up in time and escape, though they sustained burns.

A two-year-old child was particularly affected, suffering burns to the stomach, head, and other parts of the body.

According to a police incident report, the household was awakened by the fire engulfing their home.

“They quickly fled and sought help from neighbors, who assisted in extinguishing the flames. Unfortunately, their approximately three-year-old son sustained burns to the head, stomach, and both hands. He received treatment at Oyamo Dispensary and was discharged in fair condition. Several household items were also destroyed in the fire,” as detailed in the police report.
