GEM WAGAI: In Ndori sub-location, Gem Wagai sub-county, a man died at the hands of the public after being subjected to mob justice.
The deceased, identified as Evan Otieno, 31, was allegedly caught in the act of breaking into a shop within Akala market when bystanders attacked him.
Police swiftly responded to the scene and managed to rescue Otieno from the enraged crowd.
According to an incident report from Akala police station, Otieno, described as a notorious criminal, was quickly taken to Bondo sub-county hospital for treatment.
Tragically, Otieno succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical care at Bondo sub-county hospital. His body was subsequently transferred to the hospital’s mortuary pending an autopsy.
