Pain as seven people die in a grisly load accident in Timau

TIMAU: Seven people lost their lives this evening after a truck carrying building blocks veered off the road, colliding with a motorcyclist and subsequently rolling several times in Meru County.

The truck, an Isuzu model, was traveling from Meru towards Timau sub-county.

According to the police report obtained by Kondele News, those confirmed dead include four adult males, two adult females, and one female child.

The incident also involved an unidentified motorcycle ridden by a male adult who was pronounced dead upon arrival at Timau sub-county hospital.

The report states, “The truck was being driven from Meru towards Timau, transporting construction blocks. At the accident location, the driver lost control, veering off the road towards Timau. The vehicle collided with the motorcycle, which was then removed from the scene. Afterward, it struck several pedestrians, rolled multiple times, and landed in a ditch.” said Siaya sub-county Police commander

Injured individuals were transported to Timau sub-county hospital, while the deceased were taken to the mortuary pending post-mortem examinations.
