Gor Mahia crowned champions as Muhoroni FC and Nzoia Sugar relegated

As the final whistle blew to signal the conclusion of the Kenya Premier League season, Gor Mahia was crowned the champions for the 21st time.

The mighty Kogalo secured this title with a remarkable 73 points, finishing eight points ahead of runners-up Tusker United. Police FC claimed the third position.

In a season reminiscent of Operation Thunderbolt, Gor Mahia asserted their dominance in the Kenyan league by defeating Bidco United 4-3, culminating in a stylish end to their campaign.

Credit is largely attributed to Jonathan McKinstry, who navigated the team through this remarkable journey. However, he has since departed Gor Mahia to lead Gambia’s National Team.

Meanwhile, Muhoroni Youths and Nzoia Sugar faced relegation, making way for newcomers Mara Sugar FC and former 2008 league champions Mathare FC.

Mathare FC, who suffered a humiliating relegation last year, have returned with a determination to showcase their potential.
