Pictures of Kenya Police patrolling in Haiti

Just days after arriving in Haiti, the first images of Kenyan police officers have surfaced online.

Clad in military attire and heavily armed, they are seen patrolling the streets of Port-au-Prince as part of a multinational mission.

Portrayed in the photos shared online, the officers were conducting patrols in the city, which has been plagued by criminal gangs.

Port-au-Prince is home to Haiti’s governmental institutions, now under threat from these gangs, notably led by Barbecue.

The emergence of these photos coincided with a statement from Barbecue, warning of imminent confrontation with the Kenyan officers and hinting at potential violence.

Despite calls from Kenyans to abort the mission, President William Ruto remained steadfast, having committed to the deployment in agreement with the United States.

Our thoughts are with our compatriots in Haiti, hoping for their safe return. Stay tuned to this page for daily news updates.
