Revealed, what killed famous Tanzania MP Bwege ‘We uliskia wapi?’

Former Kilwa South Member of Parliament, in Tanzania, Selemani Bungara, who went viral on Social Media with the expression ‘wewe ulisikia wapi’ is dead.

Mr Bangara who was widely known in Tanzania as Bwege had been battling diabetes among othe health conditions according to his elder brother Abasi Bungara.

“He had diabetes for a long time. Nearly two years ago, his kidneys started having problems and eventually stopped working. The treatment was either dialysis or a kidney transplant. The kidney was the biggest problem even when his condition was deteriorating. So he was going for blood purification three times a week. Before he passed on, he went for dialysis at EMS hospital but immediately he arrived, his condition deteriorated. Doctors tried their best but God had his plans. He died at 1pm,” he said.

He went on, “Today March 30, when he went for dialysis when his condition worsened at Kigamboni hospital. The Lord loved him more and decided to take him, Glory be to Him.”

The late lawmaker was laid to rest today at Kilwa where he was born and served as a lawmaker.

Bwege previously served as an MP for the Kilwa South Constituency from 2010 to 2020. During his leadership, he remained honest and courageous and stood firm to defend the interests of Tanzanians.

In parliament, he served in several committees, including Agriculture, Livestock, and Water between 2010 and 2013; HIV and AIDS Affairs from 2013 to 2015; and Social Development and Services.

For the two terms he served as a legislator, he was elected on ACT Wazalendo Party, an opposition party; he however resigned early this year in February and joined CHADEMA
