Nose of a policeman broken, police looking for culprits in Murang’a

Police in Murang’a are currently searching for approximately ten men who assaulted and injured a police officer and G4S personnel traveling from a recruitment exercise in Kenol.

The incident occurred as they were en route to Delmonte in a Landcruiser driven by Peter Mwangi, near the Shell Petrol Station.

According to the victims, the assailants began pelting their vehicle with stones. Police Constable Simon Mutiso, stationed at Samburu Police Station, sustained serious injuries including a fractured nasal area.

Other victims included G4S supervisor Denis Kongani, who suffered head and right hand injuries, and Jecinter Wambui, who sustained soft tissue injuries to her right hand and left leg. Three other occupants escaped unhurt.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown. Following the assault, the perpetrators fled the scene, leaving the vehicle’s front windscreen and right side screen shattered.

Officer Mutiso was initially treated at Bliss Medical Center in Thika and has since been transferred to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital for further medical attention due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the motive and apprehend those responsible.
