Shock as a man burns his family alive inside the house

The community around Nyamasaria in Kisumu County is grappling with profound shock and sorrow following a tragic incident where a woman and her three children aged 19, 15 and 10 met a gruesome death.

The deceased, identified as Eunice, lived with her children in a modest iron-sheet house. Reports indicate that her husband allegedly locked them inside the house before setting it ablaze.

The horrifying incident unfolded around 2 am, shattering the stillness of the night while neighbors were asleep.

Phanice Kimberly, a neighbor, recounted the distressing scene: “We heard cries for help. By the time we rushed to their house, flames had already engulfed it, leaving us helpless to rescue them.”

Expressing deep dismay, Kimberly added, “Such a tragedy should never happen. When a marriage or relationship is deteriorating, we must recognize the signs and seek help before it escalates to this unimaginable level.”

The community’s grief is compounded by the senselessness of the act and the lives lost, prompting reflection on the importance of early intervention and support in troubled relationships.
