By BERTILLA NYANCHAMA: Borangi Secondary School has maintained a steady trajectory of impressive student enrollment and academic performance despite facing persistent infrastructural constraints.
Speaking during the school’s prize-giving day, Broadcasting and Telecommunications Principal Secretary Professor Edward Kisiangani lauded the institution’s leadership, staff, and student body for maintaining high standards of discipline and academic excellence.
Prof Kisiangani noted that the school’s population has surged from an initial 150 students to the current 1,046, a testament to the growing confidence that parents and the local community place in the institution.
“Despite the challenges of overcrowded dormitories and classrooms, the school has set an excellent example by performing well and maintaining strict discipline,” the PS noted.
He congratulated the Class of 2025 for posting strong Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, highlighting that a significant number of candidates secured university-entry grades of C-plus and above.
“We have witnessed immense focus and progress in our youth. I congratulate the Class of 2025 for their stellar performance,” he added.

Addressing the graduating cohort, the PS urged them to carry the same culture of discipline and integrity into universities and tertiary colleges. He cautioned them against complacency in higher learning institutions, reminding them that sustained success demands hard work and unwavering determination.
To inspire the learners, the PS shared his personal academic journey from primary school to university, emphasizing that discipline and mutual respect are foundational values required to shape future leaders, professionals, and policymakers.
Turning to national development, the PS highlighted the government’s ongoing rollout of digital infrastructure across the country, specifically pointing to the expansion of fiber-optic internet connectivity and the deployment of Jitume digital laboratories.
As part of this digital transformation agenda, he announced that the government plans to install Wi-Fi connectivity at Borangi Secondary School to enhance research, support modern pedagogy, and bridge the digital literacy gap among students.
